How to Migrate from App 1.x to App 2.x?

After you have installed the new version 2 of the Häfele Connect Mesh App, you can import your existing networks into the App 2.0. Take the opportunity to secure your network .connect file in a safe place. Since with the App 2.0 not only new features but also many changes and improvements to existing functions are added, existing networks need to be migrated. This process attempts to make the transition into App 2.0 as easy as possible for all previous users of App 1.x. During a migration process, the existing network file is first imported and adapted to the updated format. Then, one device after another is tried to be migrated to the latest status. The device settings are read out, the devices are reset, the firmware is updated, and the old settings are played back as far as possible. For each device, a duration of up to 2 minutes should be planned. Devices that could not be successfully migrated may need to be manually reset and set up again. After a successful migration, all devices have the new features (e.g. time control) available.

App 2.0 Read-Only Mode

Anyone who wants to try out the control functions of the new App 2.0 without migration, can export their network as a .connect file from App 1.x and import it into App 2.0. The control mode allows you to try out most features without performing a migration. However, as soon as the network is to be changed, a migration must first take place.

App 1.x and App 2.0 Parallel Operation

Parallel operation of App 1.x and App 2.0 is possible as long as the App 2.0 is only operated in Read-Only mode. As soon as the migration is initiated in App 2.0, the network must no longer be used in App 1.x. In this case, delete your network from App 1.x after you have secured the .connect file.
